Simulacrum - Work in progress - day one.

Work in Progress of Simulacrum - a new work by winter guests.
A meeting between two-multi award winning artists, Daniel Proietto and ShÃ´ji Kojima.
Incorporating Kabuki, Flamenco and Contemporary dance, with a striking, visual narrative, Simulacrum centers on the life and journey of the 75 years old Japanese flamenco legend ShÃ´ji Kojima.
The production borrows from several ancient theatrical traditions, but is also a testing ground for innovative technical ideas with a collaborative set design created by Andy Cavatorta and Ãsmund FÃ¦ravaag.
Simulacrum â explores the transformative spirit thought to be intrinsic to Kabuki and Flamenco, and debates its authenticity from the perspective of those born in to alternate cultures. From opposite ends of the earth, two dancers cross continental and cultural borders to ask each other what part passion, identity and mortality play in the making of the artist, and subsequently, their art.
Defying tradition, the fierce, tribal pride of Flamenco shares the stage with the secretive, familial formality of Kabuki.
