Short Works

Four short award winning works created for gala & festival events.

“…and Carolyn”

“…and Carolyn” was created for the garland and award winning dancers Camilla Spidsøe Cohen and Daniel Proietto in February 2008.

This short choreography was conceived on the audio-score from the movie 'American Beauty', with music  composed by Thomas Newman and texts by Alan Ball.  In creating “…and Carolyn” on a cinematic score - with all sounds intact - the choreography becomes an abstract extension of the missing images from the film. We are left with the essence of cinematic emotionality to the soundscape of Alan Ball’s existential monologue.

“…and Carolyn” has won two 1st. Prizes for choreography.

“In time and it will snow”

The duet “In time and it will snow” was written as a series of fictional journal entries describing the last year in the life of a terminally ill patient.

Performed as a duet – two dancers recite text and dance two sides of the same story.

The piece was made for and won the 1st. Prize at the 2007 Kuopio Dance Festival choreographic competition. It has toured various festivals in Europe and in the USA. The piece is currently in the repertoire of Skånes Dance Theatre.

“Sad stories 6 & 8”:

“Sad Stories 6 & 8” was created for actress Yvonne Øyen and dancer Ayman Harper, former member of The Frankfurt Ballet.

Some times there is no out.

What if you were on the inside of a snow-globe that refuses to snow? And what if time and space were as infinite as memories? No future, no past.  And being, as it may, frustrating to step neither forward nor backwards, there is a certain quiet to resting at that one point in time that is now.  Waiting - for someone or for something to happen.

“The Winter Guest”:

“The Winter Guest” is a short solo created for Daniel Prioetto.

The piece, created as a personal gesture to a friend, is based on the Michael Kamen's score for Michael Winterbottom's film The Winter Guest.  The performance short duration makes it suitable only for galas events, or in conjunction with other works presented by the company.
